This article proposes a new model for collaborative creation of musical resources, such as textbooks. The concept is to use software that is ammenable to the plain text format. Meaning that the same collaborative tools that large open-source software projects use can also be used by a community of musicians to create resources at a scale and level of quality that was previously infeasible due to commericial or commercial presures.
